Project
Introduction
Imagine a world where technology can improve quality of life.
That’s not possible.
Now imagine a world where technology tries to improve quality of life.
Following Socrates’ advice, we began with ourselves, from the knowledge of mankind.
Hello World allows the correlation of psycho-physiological aspects with the context in which they are collected. This kind of approach offers a revolutionary tool for addressing some disorders in the field of neurosciences: we investigated some problems linked to human psyche, such as disorders related to memory, anxiety and stress.
A complex synergy of cooperative systems gathers a user’s biometric parameters and contextual data about his/her life, by using advanced technological tools. Furthermore, all existing data is correlated in order to understand what has happened and the psycho-physiological state of the user.
By using Hello World, a doctor can take advantage of a new tool to investigate the patient’s pathology and provide the most appropriate and purposeful therapy.
At the same time, Hello World can be targeted at a larger audience for scenarios that go beyond the purely clinical field: users can easily and effectively explore their life and personal progress, almost as if they were watching a movie.
While in many medical sectors machines have been widely used for many years now, in the field of psychiatry the adoption of such tools is far less common. Extending the support of technologies even to this kind of treatments is important.
This is what we have been trying to achieve.
Objectives
- Support for mental therapies:
Hello World provides therapists with a tool for the diagnosis of disorders. Furthermore, it facilitates the
choice of the most effective treatment for the specific patient and the
prognostic assessment.
- Support for human memory:
Based on our experiences, Hello World is able to write a diary on the users' behalf, allowing them to go back into the past and relive the most significant moments of their lives.
- Support for gathering and contextualizing data:
Hello World collects biometric data correlating it to the user’s specific context. In this way, the doctor can have a more complete description of the patient’s situation. Usually overlooked details can become essential aspects for the diagnosis and therapy of some mental disorders.
